Andreas Siegfried works directly with each client, whether they are looking for a particular work or thinking about how a collection might develop. The process begins with the collector. Andreas takes time to understand what draws them to art and, where a collection already exists, how it has developed. He researches artists and individual works and sources through galleries, artists, auction houses and private channels. He also assesses price and market context before negotiating acquisitions on a client’s behalf. His work spans both the primary and secondary markets.
Many of these relationships develop over years. Andreas has advised collectors across successive acquisitions and, where relevant, considered works in relation to the homes in which they will be lived with. His approach is deliberately personal: rather than starting from what is available for sale, he looks for works that make sense for a particular collector and the collection they are building. His international network has grown over decades through long-standing relationships with artists and galleries, as well as with collectors and institutions. It allows Siegfried Contemporary to identify works that are publicly available as well as opportunities that emerge only through direct relationships or careful negotiation.
