This work is rooted in the evening view from the terrace of my family home in my village. Every day, at the time of Maghrib, the call to prayer drifts across the sky, weaving with the fading light of dusk. I wanted to hold that moment when the world feels both still and alive, ordinary yet deeply sacred. The skyline of rooftops and trees grounds the image in a familiar landscape, yet the flock of pigeons above transforms it into something more spiritual. Their flight gathers into a pattern, almost like an invisible script written across the sky. For me, this recalls the rhythm of prayer and the intangible presence of memory, faith, and community. When I witness this from my rooftop, I feel an immense calm, as though the day’s fatigue dissolves. It gives me a sense of sukoon (peace) that makes me want to remain in that moment endlessly.
