The works below offer a selection of acquisitions and placements made through Siegfried Contemporary. They reflect the different ways in which Andreas works with collectors: from following an artist’s practice closely and acquiring new work at an important moment to locating an established work with a significant exhibition or market history. Among them are Yuji Agematsu’s zip: 07.01.21 . . . 09.30.21, subsequently shown at the Clark Art Institute, and a work from R.H. Quaytman’s The Hieroglyphic, Chapter 0.4, presented at Frieze Masters. Matthew Angelo Harrison’s Sister Covered in Tears was first shown with Galerie Eva Presenhuber in Zurich, while Luc Tuymans’s Singing in the Rain is a major painting from 1996 with an established secondary-market history.
Some of the other works listed below grew from equally specific contexts. Mire Lee's work was made in the period following her Tate Modern Turbine Hall commission, while Alvaro Barrington’s work was created for the Contemporary Art Society. Richard Long’s work carries an exhibition history reaching back to his 2004 presentation at Sperone Westwater; Thomas Demand’s Klee belongs to the group of works on copper he began in 2025. Together, these works give a sense of an advisory practice that operates across the primary and secondary markets and follows artists at very different moments in their careers, always with attention to the particular work rather than the name alone.
