On Wednesday, 16 September, Rainald Franz, one of Europe’s leading specialists in glass and the decorative arts, joins Paola Petrobelli at CASA YALI in Venice for a conversation during The Venice Glass Week.
Franz is Curator of the Glass and Ceramics Collection at the MAK in Vienna. Petrobelli, born in Padua and based in London, has developed an internationally recognised practice in glass, informed by her early training in molecular biology. Her work has been presented at Design Miami/Basel, the Triennale Design Museum and other major international platforms, and she has collaborated with Christian Dior. Held on the occasion of Biennale Arte 2026, the conversation accompanies GLAS, PLEXI, Petrobelli’s first solo exhibition in Venice. The show presents a new body of work combining handblown glass with acrylic, with light playing an active role in how the objects are perceived.
The exhibition is presented by CASA YALI in collaboration with Siegfried Contemporary, the art and design platform founded by Andreas Siegfried in 2010, known for exhibitions bringing contemporary art and design into dialogue.
GLAS, PLEXI remains on view throughout The Venice Glass Week and until 22 November 2026.
