"The mission of art is to contribute towards evolution, to embolden the mind, to allow for a detached view on societal changes, to summon positive energies, to create sensuality, to reconcile mind and instinct, to explore possibilities, and to destroy clichés and prejudices."
Pipilotti Rist
Siegfried Contemporary Art Salon is a platform for discovering new talent, championing young, international artists and designers through private exhibitions held both in the salon in London and in Saanen, Switzerland. Art and design objects exist to be interacted and lived with. Siegfried Contemporary welcomes visitors to have deliberate, direct, intimate conversations about art. The flexibility of the program allows for an open discourse with the artists and results in a personal and unique experience.
Andreas Siegfried’s practise is multifaceted: as a gallerist, curator, art advisor and collector in his own right, he specialises in Modern and Contemporary Art and works with established and emerging as well as historic artists worldwide.
After completing his art degree at Sotheby's, Andreas settled in Zurich to work for Swiss art dealer Bruno Bischofberger. Building on this experience, Andreas moved to Paris to do an MBA at SUP de LUXE Paris. In the nineties, he came to London and began working at Christie's Auction House. Subsequently, he co-owned the Christian Louboutin UK franchise for several years until returning to the art world and collaborationg with established galleries such as White Cube and Max Wigram. From 2008 to 2018 Andreas represented Art Basel in the UK. Parallel to that, in 2010, Andreas founded his independent Art Advisory, which marks the beginning of Siegfried Contemporary. In 2012, he began holding exhibitions in a private showroom in his Notting Hill townhouse.
